Nestle: We Use Their Products Every Day, but How It All Started?

Nestle is a Swiss multinational food and drink processing conglomerate, corporation headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland. It has been the largest publicly held food company in the world. This company was founded in 1866 for the Anglo-Swiss condensed milk brand. It was founded by Henry Nestle. At this time, Paul Bulcke is the chairman of this corporation. Cadbury was the only company in the category at that time. In India, Nestle entered the Indian market in 1912 by importing condensed milk and the first factory was established in India in 1961 in Moga in Punjab. After Punjab, in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, Nestle started the factory. In 1990, Nestle entered the confectionery market by introducing premium chocolate. Nestle India headquarter is in Gurgaon, Haryana. The company has four branches in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Nestle has been a partner in India's growth over a century now and has built a very special relationship of trust and commitment with the people of India. The company continuously focuses its efforts to better understand the changing lifestyle in India and anticipate customer needs in order to provide taste, nutrition and health through its product offering. Nestle India is a responsible organization and facilitates initiatives that help to improve the quality of life. Nestle has launched many products in Indian markets of famous products like Maggi, Kit Kat and many chocolates. Nestle has first position in the life meal category, baby food and coffee. In India, Nestle has a strong position in the India's market for their good products. Nestle divides their products in three categories, first in premium, second in mainstream and the third in PPP, popular position products. Nestle India got many awards like Golden Peacock Environmental Management Award in 2009.
