History and early days :
The Parle Group was founded in 1929 by Mohanlal Chauhan with its first biscuit product Parle Gluco which was later named Parle G. The company was named Parle because it was started in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Parle Gluco was a new product for the Indian market and common peoples due to its good taste and low price. Before Parle Gluco the biscuits in the Indian market were mostly foreign and high priced hence biscuits were a luxury product only available for wealthy peoples. Due to the excellent taste and very affordable pricing Parle Gluco became an instant hit and very soon everyone from kids to olds and common to wealthy people started loving the taste and it became everyone's favorite.

And after Jayantilal Parle Agro got splitted between two brothers Prakash and Ramesh Chauhan in which Prakash Chauhan got Parle Agro which is currently runned by her daughters and Ramesh got the Bisleri brand which is the India's leading packaged water brand.
